Towards a Lightweight Task Scheduling Framework for Cloud and Edge Platform

A new journal article about task scheduling in (multi-)cloud and edge computing environments has just been accepted for publication in Elsevier’s Internet of Things journal. The article proposes a very lightweight approach, combining Reliable Server Pooling (RSerPool) with adapted server selection policies. A proof-of-concept is provided by simulations using the Open Source RSPSIM simulation model, as well as by a prototype setup using the Open Source RSPLIB implementation. This article is part of a cooperation between Simula and Copenhagen Business School (CBS, Handelshøjskolen i København).
